Airport Land Use Commission

The Airport Land Use Commission (ALUC) is comprised of seven commissioners.  Two of the commissioners are appointed by the Plumas County Board of Supervisiors, two are appointed by the incorporated city of Portola, two are appointed by Plumas County Airport Managers and one public member is appointed by the other commisssioners.  The Plumas County Airport Land Use Commission assists local agencies.  The Commissions fudimental responsibility is to "ensure the orderly expansion of airports and the adoption of land use measures that minimize the public's exposure to excessive noise and safety hazards within areas around public airports to the extent that these areas are not already devoted to incapatable uses" (PUC 21670(a)).  The ALUC is required to prepare and adopt an airport land use plan for each of the airports within its jurisdiction.  Plumas County Planning and Building Services provides professional and support services to the commission.  In order for the ALUC to meet its responsibilities in compliance with PUC 21670 thru 21679.5 the following was adopted on February 27, 2008:

Meeting Information:

The Airport Land Use Commission meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 2:00 p.m. in the Plumas County Planning and Building Services conference room.  The Planning and Building Services conference room is located at 555 Main Street  in Quincy California. 

The Airport Land Use Commission agendas are posted at least three (3) working days prior to ALUC meetings at the following locations:  Plumas County Courthouse Lobby, 520 Main Street, Quincy;  Planning and Building Services bulletin board, 555 Main Street, Quincy;  and the Planning and Building Services website.  Minutes of all public meetings will be kept and made part of the permanent public record.  Minutes will be considered for approval at the next regularly scheduled meeting and upon approval will become part of the official record of the Commission.  Approved minutes are posted on the Planning and Building Services website.

 

Members of the public who are disabled or require special assistance or accommodaions at the meeting are requested to notify the Plumas County Office for Accessibility by phoning (530) 283-6194 at least seventy-two hours in advance of the meeting to ensure availability.
